Poonam Pandey, born on March 11, 1991, was an Indian model and erotic actress. She made her Bollywood debut in 2013 with the film "Nasha." Hailing from Kanpur, Pandey began her modeling career in 2010, gaining recognition as one of the top nine contestants in the Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest. Her social media presence, particularly on Twitter, gained popularity when she started sharing semi-nude photos.

Pandey garnered media attention when she pledged to strip for the Indian national cricket team if it won the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Despite India's victory, she did not fulfill the promise, attributing it to public disapproval and alleged denial of permission by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). She later posted a video on her mobile app showing her stripping at Wankhede Stadium at night.

In 2012, she posed nude in celebration of Kolkata Knight Riders' victory in the Indian Premier League. Pandey faced controversy, including a banned mobile application and the uploading and subsequent deletion of a sex tape on Instagram with her boyfriend.

Her film career began in 2013 with the lead role in "Nasha," where she portrayed a teacher engaging in a sexual relationship with a student. Reception varied, with some praising her seductive portrayal, while others felt she fell short in her role.

Pandey married Sam Bombay in a private ceremony on September 1, 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the marriage faced challenges, with Pandey accusing Bombay of molestation, threats, and assault in September 2020. On November 5, 2020, Pandey was arrested in North Goa for filming a nude video on government property. She faced accusations related to the major porn film racketing controversy scandal involving Bollywood stars. The Supreme Court of India granted her protection from arrest on January 18, 2022.

Tragically, Poonam Pandey passed away on February 1, 2024, at the age of 32, succumbing to cervical cancer. The announcement was made on her official Instagram account by her manager.
